USAID Advancing Nutrition is soliciting applications for grants to conduct a laboratory validation of measuring hemoglobin in different types of blood samples from the same individual, using different instruments in a laboratory setting. The HEmoglobin MEasurement (HEME) Grant announcement is available at (scroll down to RFA No. USAID-AN-32-2021 HEME).

Our goal is to award three to five grants that will contribute to the identification of best procedures and methods for determining hemoglobin concentration in population surveys.

Questions regarding this solicitation should be submitted by email to by February 15, 2021 at 17:00 EST.

Applications should be submitted in English and will be accepted until April 12, 2021 at 5:00 EST.



1. The purpose of the "Travel & Transportation" amendment is to include a Travel and Transportation budget in the RFA.

2. The second amendment clarifies the timeline of the HEME grants (and the budgetary implications), and the inclusion criteria in the studies. Please refer to the amendment titled, "Amendment 2-Performance Period & Inclusion Criteria in the Studies-April 2 2021".
