The American Society of Nutrition (ASN) hosted the annual flagship conference NUTRITION 2021 virtually this year. On June 7‒10, NUTRITION 2021 LIVE ONLINE gathered thousands of participants from 87 countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic team of USAID Advancing Nutrition. The project’s abstract was selected for ASN’s virtual poster presentation.

USAID Advancing Nutrition Kyrgyz Republic shared experience from its baseline survey analysis in the face of COVID-19 challenges through a poster titled, “Methodological Lessons Learned from Conducting a Population-Based Phone Survey on Nutrition Practices in the Kyrgyz Republic.”  Along with more than 1,300 abstracts presented at the meeting, USAID Advancing Nutrition’s work is published in the open access journal Current Developments in Nutrition Volume 5, Suppl. 2, in June 2021.

Presentations and panel sessions focused on new research on nutrition, health, and related subjects. This year, the conference shined a spotlight the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects on nutrition status worldwide.
