Country Profile

The USAID PROFILES is a set of computer-based models that calculate the estimated impact if malnutrition doesn't improve over a specific time frame. This model calculates the impact of late breastfeeding on neonatal mortality, providing a way for policy advocates to calculate the consequences of inaction, and providing a way for policy implementers to estimate the gains from their proposed policies. This brief describes why the model was developed, how the model works, how estimates can be used for advocacy, and what information is needed to use the model.
