Director of Food Systems

Bonnie McClafferty leads the project’s efforts related to nutritious and safe food supply chains and markets, overseeing technical program design and coordinating investments and activities.

She has more than 20 years of experience working in agricultural and nutrition and specializes in program design, implementation, and monitoring of programs that sit at the nexus of food systems and nutrition. For the past seven years, she served as the director of nutritious food supply chain at GAIN, where she managed their nutritious food supply chain portfolio, including the design and implementation of the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods and the Postharvest Loss Alliance for Nutrition. Prior to that, Bonnie worked for 12 years as the head of development, advocacy, and communication for HarvestPlus, the global flagship program for biofortification implemented across the institutes that make up the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Bonnie serves on the board of the World Vegetable Centre and on the Program Advisory Committee of the Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa housed within the Africa Union Commission.
