Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

Carol will lead the project team responsible for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) working in close collaboration with USAID Advancing Nutrition partners and staff to support project learning and adaptation and to maximize the project’s impact on nutrition and food security outcomes.

Carol is a global health and nutrition expert with a record of accomplishment in generating actionable evidence to drive and shape strategies, programs, and operations. Prior to joining USAID Advancing Nutrition, Carol served as chief impact officer at Feeding America, where she oversaw the design and execution of programs and partnerships to improve access to a variety of nutritious food through the 200-member national network. She also directed the organization’s strategic research agenda to shape policies and strategies for advancing a hunger-free America.

Carol possesses more than 20 years of experience implementing strategy and leveraging research, data, and analytics to maximize social impact and improve organizational performance. She has worked with leading think tanks and philanthropic organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. Carol has served on the board of commissioners of the International Initiative on Impact Evaluation and on the advisory committee of the Global Health Investment Fund, an innovative social impact fund.
