Deputy Project Director

Mike is responsible for managing technical activities globally and in countries. He provides strategic direction and oversees a team of technical experts and regional directors, ensuring program activities are well coordinated and implemented to the highest standard.

Mike has more than 15 years of experience in international development and public health, including extensive experience in program design and implementation across the spectrum of maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health; family planning; and nutrition programming. Prior to joining USAID Advancing Nutrition, Mike served on the SPRING project as country support team lead and as chief of party for SPRING in the Kyrgyz Republic. He also served as deputy nutrition team lead for Save the Children Federation, Inc. Prior to joining SPRING, Mike was health and nutrition director for Save the Children in Bangladesh and worked on a global newborn health project, supporting programs in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Son of Peace Corps and USAID professionals, Mike grew up overseas from an early age.
