Apply Now: Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Design Guide Training of Trainers Workshop
Thank you for your interest in the Nutrition-Sensitive Design Guide Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop. Based on state and federal guidance for COVID-19, the TOT workshop will be postponed. Please stay tuned for more information about the updated application deadline and new workshop dates in the coming weeks.
USAID’s Bureau for Food Security is organizing a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop to advance nutrition-sensitive agriculture programming.
The Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Design Guide
The Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Design Guide comprises a facilitator’s guide and several slide decks with which to strengthen capacity to design, implement, monitor, and manage agriculture-led economic growth activities that contribute to better nutrition. The Design Guide is structured to be delivered in a workshop format to help activity teams achieve contextually-appropriate, nutrition-sensitive agriculture outcomes and ensure that activities are able to document their contributions to nutrition goals.
About the ToT Workshop
The three-day Design Guide ToT Workshop will take place in Washington, D.C. from April 21-23, 2020. This training will bring together participants interested in learning how to effectively facilitate the Design Guide workshop for their activity team. This ToT is best suited for individuals who:
Have a good understanding of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and ideally a background in nutrition.
Work directly in the field or are based at headquarters supporting field teams.
Lead a team that works on agriculture-led economic growth activities to increase production, income, resilience, and market competitiveness, and seek to improve nutrition of poor and vulnerable households.
Plan to deliver the Design Guide Workshop within about six months after completing the ToT.
Your team may be ready for the Design Guide Workshop if they are entering the design, work planning, or review stages of their program cycle. The Design Guide Workshop is most useful and applicable for activities that are in the process of developing or adjusting their interventions, results framework, and performance management plans.
Ideally, each organization or project that wishes to deliver the Design Guide Workshop would send two individuals to be trained as facilitators. Two facilitators are needed to deliver the workshop effectively because of the highly participatory nature of the Design Guide Workshop sessions that engage groups of 3–5 participants.
