On November 17–18, 2021, the Government of Tanzania’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) launched a Resource Mobilization Strategy to accompany the second iteration of the National Multi-sectoral Nutrition Action Plan (NMNAP II), which continues the Government of Tanzania’s effort to address malnutrition in all forms by expanding its high-impact multi-sectoral approach. USAID Advancing Nutrition supported the creation of the Resource Mobilization Strategy in partnership with the PMO and a dedicated government committee. This NMNAP II sister document will ensure that Tanzania’s government ministries and nutrition stakeholders can effectively allocate resources to fund both nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive activities. More than 400 people attended the launch ceremony, which was held in Tanga. Participants included Prime Minister Honorable Kassim Majaliwa, Minister of State Honorable Jenista Mhagama, sectoral ministers and other government representatives, as well as representatives from the United Nations in Tanzania and other development partners.
