For millions of people, the COVID-19 pandemic changed the landscape of the workspace and the way we interact with peers and colleagues. If you are like me, then your days often consist of waking up; opening the computer; checking emails; and preparing for another long day of meetings, webinars, and Slack chats. If you are lucky, you squeeze in time to complete your assignments around these obligations before eventually closing the screen and repeating the next day.

Finding engaging ways to bridge the tele-divide is something many organizations are still grappling with three years after the start of the pandemic. The 2023 Agriculture, Nutrition, and Health (ANH) Academy Week is proof that you can hold stimulating virtual, in-person, and hybrid events that keep the audience wanting more. Taking place over two weeks from June 19–30, 2023, the first week included online learning labs spanning topics from cash programming in emergency contexts to dietary data collection and analysis to social and behavior change (SBC) evidence in nutrition programs. The second week was broadcast from the Bingu Wa International Convention Center in Lilongwe, Malawi and featured in-person learning labs along with a plethora of hybrid paper, poster, presentation, and panel sessions led by researchers, academics, government actors, nongovernmental organizations, and interested parties.
