Technical Report

This learning report details the methods, results, and recommendations of the Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) Early Childhood Development (ECD) 0-3 initiative in Ghana, which aimed to engage parents and caregivers in stimulation and responsive parenting. The study used a longitudinal, mixed-method approach to document changes in perceptions and practices around psychosocial stimulation and responsive care in communities implementing the program. It showed significant gains in short-term knowledge transfer for health workers and the use of learning materials and play-based practices for caregivers. These results suggest that the program was successful and generated vital suggestions for future ECD work in Ghana.
