Social and Behavior Change

This assessment informed the design of social and behavior change (SBC) activities across the USAID Nawiri program in Isiolo and Marsabit. It involved identifying the most critical behaviors to change for different types of actors; key actors and their roles in changing behaviors; pathways for change for the priority behaviors; and social/community-oriented interventions that could be tested and iterated to facilitate change. CRS used key informant and paired interviews, focus group discussions, and country-level workshops to complete the assessment. The findings identified key constraints such as challenges to recuperative feeding, and strategies that can facilitate SBC, such as participatory storytelling and peer outreach.
