Children grow best in an environment that supports all aspects of their development—receiving the nurturing care they need. Nurturing care includes having safe and secure surroundings, responsive caregiving, opportunities for stimulation and learning, and adequate health care and nutrition.
USAID and USAID Advancing Nutrition curated this set of resources to inform and guide USAID implementing partners to design and implement more tailored, age-specific infant feeding and responsive care and early learning programming during the first two years of a child’s life. As part of the effort, we have compiled a few key resources for implementers to review and consider. These resources share information on what nurturing care is, why it is important to optimal child development, and how USAID implementing partner programs can implement activities to support nurturing care.
